If Microsoft wants to sell Flight Simulator software then their OS department needs to ensure that the hardware/controllers can function within the software environment. There are two parts that trouble me: a) Windows disengaged my third-party firewall and enabled its own firewall, and b) the X52 has been working on Windows for months on the same USB port (then it started needing restarts and driver re-installs, no nothing). Further, Saitek thinks, The MFD screen (Multi Function Display), first introduced on the X52 Flight Controller, is now interactive.Now you can display important in-game information such as the Radio Stack and interact with your games directly. Thankfully that card works fine in my new 10700k build running Win10 Pro, using the latest logitech supplied X52 Pro drivers. I ended up buying a pci-e adapter card which sports a USB EHCI chipset years ago, which solved that incompatibility problem. BUT.years ago I found that its USB chipset, at least in the one I own, is incompatible with USB XHCI.period! Even though XHCI "supports" USB 2.0, plugging my X52 into such a XHCI port always hung my computer. Just finished a MSFS flight around Kenai Fjords in Alaska and everything about my 'stick worked perfectly. I don't have much of a use for them though.No problems here with my 2006 vintage Saitek X52 Pro in Windows 10. The buttons / clock on the throttle don't really seem to work.But over all, it might be more annoying to some, such as when flying a helicopter. The Saitek X52 is an advanced HOTASJoystick/Throttle combination from Saitek released in 2004. all Buttons will work when you delete the profile in the x52 software. the only thing I needed the driver software for was to turn off the clutch button (turning it into a normal button). Likely for locking the thrust and preventing further movement of the thrust axis when on ground, or locking into afterburner or maximum thrust while in flight. My son gave me his Saitek X 52 with the disc that came with it it is as good as new. There is a catch at minimum and maximum thrust axis.While the stick does not advertise it, I do believe this stick uses HEART technology even though it is not advertised (as it should be). The rudder axis is also very precise, and the x-y axes are just insane. The throttle is very precise, the rotary axes are very precise.I am very impressed with the design and quality of the materials used.
This feels like a real piece of equipment and not a toy.Lots of buttons and hats to keep me keyboard-free in Elite. Lots, and lots of customization with the software. Smooth, and precise control, feels like you got your money's worth.
